Aravilla Green Thumbs!
Spring is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome the season of sunshine, color, and new beginnings! Throughout our community, we’ve started decorating with beautiful flowers and bright spring colors to bring that fresh, cheerful feeling indoors. This month, our senior residents have been busy preparing for spring with a variety of fun and meaningful activities. One of the things we were most excited about was starting a gardening project—such a perfect way to celebrate the season! Our residents had a wonderful time painting and decorating their flowerpots, each one uniquely designed to reflect their creativity and personality. Once the pots were dry, the real planting began. Together, we filled them with soil and planted a variety of flowers, including daisies, daffodils, and other colorful blooms. It was truly a team effort, and everyone enjoyed getting their hands a little dirty while working together.
Since then, our residents have taken great pride in caring for their plants—watering them regularly and making sure they get plenty of sunshine. We’re all looking forward to seeing the pots come to life with bright, beautiful flowers in the coming weeks. Looking ahead, we’re also excited about starting an herb garden. Our goal is to grow fresh herbs that Chef Jorge and his team can use in preparing meals, bringing a garden-to-table touch that everyone can enjoy. Spring is a time of growth, renewal, and connection, and we’re so happy to be celebrating it together here at Memory Care Aravilla Sarasota.
Keeping Busy!
Staying active and engaged is so important, and we believe it should always be fun! Our calendar is filled with enjoyable activities that keep everyone busy, connected, and smiling. Lately, we’ve been spending time in the kitchen baking all kinds of delicious goodies. Lolita has been a wonderful help, especially with our cookie baking. She, along with several other residents, made some amazing chocolate chip cookies. The sweet aroma quickly filled the air, and be fore long, residents were following their noses right into the dining room—just in time as we were getting ready for Bingo!
Our residents have also taken pride in making our dining space look beautiful. With great care and creativity, they’ve arranged lovely flower vases to decorate each table. Nancy and the other ladies worked diligently to choose the perfect colors, and their efforts truly brighten up the room. Aravilla Music Hour!
At Aravilla, we believe music is an essential part of life. That’s why we bring live music to our senior residents every single day on both floors. Our talented entertainers fill the community with joy—some sing, while others play instruments like the piano, saxophone, guitar, banjo, and even the harp. While some days can be more challenging than others, music has the incredible power to uplift the spirit. It can transform a difficult day into a brighter one, turning frowns upside down and bringing comfort, energy, and happiness. So, leave your worries behind and join us! Come sing, dance, and enjoy the moment with us every day at 2 PM in the atrium. Seats fill up fast and the snacks are always tasty. Can’t wait to see you there.
