Easter Celebration at Aravilla Sarasota
Easter celebrations were held at Aravilla Sarasota. “Forget Me Not Ministry” visited and brought Easter service to our residents. We also had a nice Easter meal. Our chefs cooked a delicious ham with all of the fixings. Our senior residents enjoyed an egg hunt where we found lots of chocolatey treats. We even had a visit from “Some Bunny”. It was a wonderful day that we finished with live music entertainment from our good friend Mark. We hope everyone had a blessed Easter.
Aravilla Outings!
Our outings have been so much fun. The lunch bunch crew visited many restaurants this month. We took a bit of a longer drive to city of Venice to visit Cracker Barrel. Let me tell you that all of the “are we there yet?” were very well worth it. This was our favorite restaurant last month. The gift shop kept us busy while we waited for our table. It was incredible! There are so many cute and interesting things to buy. Once we sat, our server brought warm, fresh biscuits and corn bread muffins to the table. That itself was quite a meal. Some of us ordered the special of the day; meatloaf with mashed potatoes and veggies. Everything was absolutely delicious. After our meal, we sat out on the porch to enjoy their comfy rocking chairs and played a game of checkers. Our foodie friends are excited to see what the next month has in store for us. If you have any suggestions where to take our senior residents, share them with us. We would love to try them.
Key Choral at Aravilla Sarasota
Memory Care Aravilla Sarasota has had a great partnership with Key Chorale, a renowned choir dedicated to bringing uplifting experiences for our residents. We are at the end of our 8-week program with weekly visits from Maestro Caulkins and Key Chorale’s volunteer singers. Our residents have been actively participating and singing along. The Key Chorale volunteers have helped and supplied music and lyric books and kazoos for all the participants. For weeks they have paired with residents to ensure that everyone stayed on track. Our residents easily followed the materials, tapping their feet and singing with enthusiasm. In the next few weeks, we are coming to the end of our second session. We are so proud of the great talent our residents have showed. Our last few sessions will be on May 1st and 8th. Please come and join your loved one during one of these sessions. You can find us singing in the Atrium at 10:30 am.
