Aravilla Sarasota Celebrating the Season!
’Tis the season! Our holiday decorations are nearly complete, and our residents have been busy helping adorn all six of our Christmas trees—as well as the rest of the building. Each tree is unique and beautiful, so be sure to stop by and enjoy them all. We’re officially ready for Christmas carols, eggnog, and all the traditional festivities that make this time of year so special. One of our favorite activities is the evening tour of holiday lights. This outing is always fun and exciting, and it truly puts us in the holiday spirit. Diana will make sure everyone has a chance to take part in this magical tour. Our Christmas Party will be held on December 16th during music hour. Our friend Joey will be our entertainer for the day, and you can look forward to a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with delicious holiday desserts. Dress to impress—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Veteran’s Day Celebration at Aravilla
This past November 11th, Aravilla proudly celebrated Veterans Day. Our community is honored to have many veterans living right here with us representing every branch of the military. It was our pleasure and privilege to recognize them on this special day. We began the morning with a patriotic ceremony, and the atrium quickly filled as residents took their seats. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem together. One by one, we introduced our veterans and shared which branch of the military they served in. Each veteran was presented with a beautiful custom-made pin created especially for them. Residents, staff, and family members expressed their gratitude and thanked them for their service. We read a few heartfelt poems and concluded the ceremony with a patriotic sing-along, followed by delicious yogurt parfaits topped with red strawberries and blueberries. It was truly a wonderful and meaningful day for everyone.
Senior Residents Celebrating Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy delicious foods. Jorge and our talented dietary department prepared a wonderful Thanksgiving feast for everyone. We enjoyed turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and all the fixings. It was all too yummy for our tummies! While we waited to have our Thanksgiving Day picture taken, we shared our favorite Thanksgiving traditions with one another. Time flew by as we watched every one pose and smile. It was a wonderful day spent with friends. Later in the afternoon, we enjoyed live musical entertainment from our friend Debbie, who played all of our favorite tunes on the piano. It was a fantastic holiday—though we’re pretty sure we each gained ten pounds!
