Fall at Aravilla Sarasota!
We may live in Florida—where the only leaves changing are on our calendars—but that’s not stopping us from getting our fall on! Our decorations are out in full force, bursting with vibrant shades of orange, red, brown, and yellow. With the help of our team of decorating wizards (and some serious resident talent), magic is happening all around us. A trip to our local farm store brought home beautiful pumpkins and gourds, perfect for pairing with scarecrows, wreaths, and festive table centerpieces. And let’s not forget the gorgeous sunflowers crafted in art class—pure gold in every shade of yellow and orange, tying our whole look together. But the best is yet to come… our fall photo shoot setup is going to be the pumpkin in the patch! Stay tuned—our fall décor reveal is right around the corner.
Baking the Goodies
On Wednesdays, Aravilla residents become baking rockstars. Our senior residents pitch in measuring and mixing ingredients, to put together our delicious goodies. Christine’s cupcake batter skills were pure genius. She has the perfect flick of the wrist for missing up a great batter. Our oat meal raisin cookies were also irresistible. The smell of fresh baked goodies always attracts a crowd. We invite you to join us on Wednesdays afternoons for our baking gathering.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
This November members of the Aravilla staff will be walking in the “Walk to End Alz” hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s! Walk is the largest event to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. It’s held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, and our team is excited to participate this year. The walk will be on Saturday, November 15th at 8 am at Nathan Benderson Park. If anyone is interested in walking with our team or donating to our team’s fundraising efforts, please contact Diana at 941-879-1567.
Halloween Bash at Aravilla Sarasota
October has arrived, and that means Halloween is just around the corner—one of our favorite celebrations of the year! As always, we’ll be hosting our annual Halloween Costume Party, and this year promises to be just as fun and festive as ever. Thanks to Diana’s never-ending costume collection, there’s always something for everyone. Each resident will have a chance to dress up and join in the fun! Last year’s party was one to remember, with our very own Wizard of Oz crew: Bob as the Tin Man, Joanne as Dorothy, Betty as the Cowardly Lion, Carol as the Scarecrow, and Tina as the Wicked Witch. We even had a surprise appearance from Uncle Fester of the Addams Family! We can’t wait to see what creative costumes appear this year. Get ready for laughter, music and fun. See you at the party!
